WELCOME
Welcome to the Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club
Before a person discharges a firearm at the Laurie Bowe Rifle Range, the person must:
- if the person is a licensee, produce the person’s licence to a Range Officer at the Range, and
- enter in the Range Use Register the details required in that Register.
All persons (visitors, members and non-members) must sign the appropriate Licensed or Unlicensed Range Register or Visitor Register first thing on arrival (NOTE – this is done before any firearms are removed from your vehicle). The Registers are located at the Office desk in the Clubhouse.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:
In the event of an emergency, everyone on the range is to make their way to the Shotgun shaded area, the Emergency Assembly Area, and await further instructions.
The First Aid Kit and defibrillator machine are located next to the refrigerator in the Clubhouse.
RANGE HOURS:
Opening hours 8:00AM to 1:00PM. Range Officers can close the Range earlier at their discretion.
There are extended hours for competition days.
Rimfire shooting can commence at 8:30AM, Centrefire shooting not before 9:00AM.
FEES:
Senior Membership $100.00/Financial Year
Junior Membership $60.00/Financial Year
Daily Range Fees – varies depending on discipline.
MONTHLY FUNCTIONS:
1st Sunday of each month – Benchrest Rimfire/Centrefire Practice
2nd Saturday of each month – Pistol Competition/Practice
2nd Sunday of each month – Clay Target Shooting
3rd Sunday of each month – Club Benchrest Competition
- AM Rimfire
- PM Centrefire
4th Saturday of each month – Pistol Competition/Practice
4th Sunday of each month – Benchrest Rimfire/Centrefire Practice
5th Saturday of relevant months – Pistol Practice
FACILITES:
Club House – the Club House is available to all members for rest and refreshment during shooting sessions. There is no charge for tea/coffee, and cold soft drinks are available for $2.00 per can, water is $1.00. Honesty box on top of refrigerator.
Rest room facilities are available at the western end of the Clubhouse.
The Training Room is available for Firearms Safety Courses.
GENERAL RULES:
- Smoking may only be undertaken in the designated areas.
- Shooters must wear covered footwear.
- Firearms must be handled under the guidance of the Range Officer at all times.
- No person may move forward of the firing line without permission of the Range Officer.
