2026 High School Clay Target Practice
Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club Inc. Laurie Bowe Rifle Range

Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club invites you to the 2026 High School Clay Target Training Event.
Sign in 3.00 pm, training to commence at 3.30 pm
Training cost: $10 per person
This includes: admission, clay targets, range hire and all insurances.
Please note: Shot gun hire is available for $10/per person (it is strongly encouraged to provide your own)
Adult supervision is required for all participants, there is no charge for supervisors but all in attendance must sign in with and show photo ID
Participants must:
Sign range register on arrival
Produce current photo ID (school ID is accepted)
Provide their own eye protection and wear enclosed shoes
Provide their own shells. Atleast 2 boxes or 50 shells (excess ammunition will be returned to the designated licenced individual for each team)
Provide their own shotgun (preferred) or hire a shotgun ($10/per person)
Follow all event and CBSC rules, policies and procedures
Follow all safety instructions from event staff and ROs on the day
Acknowledge that failure to follow rules or safety instructions may result in the removal of you and your team from the event grounds
Indemnity waiver and Form 33
All participants must arrive with (or email before the event) the supplied indemnity waiver and Form 33 signed by their parent or legal guardian. We will not allow any individual to participate in this event without these documents.

Transport and storage of firearms and ammunition
It is the responsibilty of the team manager to organise the transportation of firearms and ammunition to and from the event. This must be undertaken by an individual with a current weapons licence.

Interclub Challenge - Round 3 - Clifton

Overview
The interclub shoot will consist of a total of four rounds, with each club hosting two rounds. The competition is designed to include a variety of matches, allowing participants to compete in different disciplines while promoting friendly rivalry and club spirit.
Competition Rounds
Round 1 – 29th March: Clifton – 22.br and shotgun
Round 2 – 31st May: MDSC – Centre-fire/sports pistol and shotgun
Round 3 – 30th August: Clifton – 22.br and shotgun (pistol match can be changed to avoid repeating the same match)
Round 4 – 29th November: MDSC – Centre-fire/sports pistol and shotgun
The best club average score will be determined for each match.
Match Details
Sports Pistol/Centre-Fire (600 possible – 2 matches)
No separate classes. Shoot any pistol, no specifications or restrictions other than in safe operating condition.
Course of Fire: 60 shots total, divided into two stages:
Precision Stage (30 shots): Six series of 5 shots, 5 minutes per series.
Rapid Fire Stage (30 shots): Six series of 5 shots. Each shot: target faces for 3 seconds, then turns edge-on for 7 seconds.
Targets: 25m precision target (10-ring = 50mm); 25m rapid-fire target (10-ring = 100mm).
Scoring: Maximum score of 600; scores of 585+ are world-class.
Benchrest .22 (400 possible – 2 matches)
No separate classes. Shoot any rifle, no specifications or restrictions other than the rifle being in safe operating condition.
Course of fire: 40 shots total (20 shots in 30 mins x 2)
Clays (25 possible – 4 matches)
Course of Fire: Shoot and break the clays. 25 clays per match.
Barbeque
The barbeque will be complimentary for all participants, featuring sausages, steakettes, bread and bread rolls, soft drinks, onions, coleslaw, sauces, tea, coffee, and milk.
Participants may bring their own beverages to enjoy after shooting is completed.
Fees
The cost is $20 per person, per round. There will be no normal club or match fees for these events.
Prizes
A club perpetual trophy will be awarded to the club with the highest average percentage across three disciplines after four rounds.
